Sylvan Learning has figured out how to help students make academic progress while still having fun over the summer.
Our experts meet your child where they really are and focus on the skills they most need to strengthen. Then we combine that academic support with exciting project-based activities that match your child’s interests.
Students complete the Sylvan Insight™ assessment at the beginning of the week. This will create the curriculum that makes up the students morning classes. Students will be guided through lessons that will give them the skills they need to answer reading, writing and Mathematic skills they could not during the assessment.
Then in the afternoon they can explore the STEM programs.
Choose a 1/2 morning built around your child’s academic needs if you are focused on strong academic improvement.
Choose the full day (1/2 academic morning and 1/2 STEM afternoon, for the full Confidence Camp experience.

The Academic Help They Need. The STEM Fun They Love.
Sylvan’s summer camps are designed for students in Grades 2–6 who want to have fun, stay sharp, and build confidence over the summer.
Each camp combines academic skill-building with hands-on STEM/STEAM projects. Students can receive support in reading, writing, or math, while also exploring exciting activities like robotics, game coding, 3D printing, CAD design, digital art, animation, engineering structures, and collaborative digital building.
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all activities, our camps are built around each student’s needs and interests. A student who needs help with writing might spend part of the session building writing skills, then move into game coding. A student working on reading might also design a 3D print or build a robot.
Each day may include a selection of activities such as:
3D Printing & CAD Design — design and prepare a 3D object for printing.
Game Coding — create a game using code blocks, with Python options available for older students.
K’nex Engineering — build bridges, towers, scissor lifts, and other structures.
Robotics — build and program robots while learning sequencing and problem-solving.
Collaborative Building — work together in a Minecraft™-like environment to create a shared digital city.
Digital Art & Animation — use free and open-source tools to create artwork and animations.
It is a summer camp that helps students catch up, keep up, and get ahead — while still making summer feel like summer.
